The Clocks Going Back
« on: October 31, 2022, 10:34:48 AM »

I've noticed as I've got older that when the clocks change time it seems to make my aches and pains worse, even my VA.
Right now, I have a flare up of my back problems, lethargic, brain fog, zonked out!

Would love to know if anyone else feels awful at this time of year?

I am sorry to hear this Ayesha. How horrible for you. My brain fog always seems bad along with the other symptoms. I am not sure if the clocks going back has changed them.

It's amazing how well I felt the day before and one bad night's sleep can be like a wrecking ball the next day. It doesn't do great for my overthinking everything re my health!

I find sleep seems even more vital during all this meno business. Like you, a bad night and my VA flares and I feel awful.

Hopefully tonight will be a better night for you. I understand overthinking and wondering if something has changed but it is very likely meno related.

I always feel gloomy when the clocks go back and its darker earlier. It was worse when I worked and got up in the dark and was dark when I got home, I only saw my garden at weekends!
I remember in the sixties they trialled not changing the clocks back and we went to school in the dark.

It’s dark now and it isn’t even 5 o’clock ☹️

Whilst I hate the fact that it gets dark so much sooner, and the dog hates that meal times are changed, we do both like the October clock change because we get that extra hour in bed  ;)
and the March one where we lose an hour, well  :-X

I retired in the summer so have the luxury now of no alarm clock and wake up when it's light.  ::)

I hate the changes either end of the year.  It takes me about a week to get used/recover from the changes  >:( and can't see the point quite honestly.

I agree with you CLKD.  There's no practical reason to change the clocks in the spring and fall, as most find the time changes wreak havoc on their sleep rhythms and such. I'm coming home now in the dark. When I go to work in the morning there's a decent amount of light still.

The clocks going back have always had a negative effect on me even when I was younger.

Surprised to see this thread a year on and I don't remember starting it.
Well I have obviously done something right as so much better this time around, expect its the supplements, VA under control, and managing my back problems better.  :)
