So, I’m post menopausal (I think) last period was pre 2019.

I’ve been taking estrogel 3 pumps for about a year. At first I was using Utrogestan 100mg but swapped to taking Provera tablets 5mg every day (for about 4 months).

The past few days I’ve had horrendous stomach cramps, just like period pains and today some spotting.

Can anyone tell me if I’m on the right dose of Provera? Should I be on a higher dose? 

I can’t get a GP appointment for another 3 weeks

Do you think I need to get it looked into if it continues? Or is this normal? I’ve not experienced anything like this since starting HRT

Just thought I’d post what’s happened since my first post.

I spoke to my GP and he seemed very concerned with my symptoms. He’s given me a 2 week referral to the gynaecology department of my local hospital for a scan  and he’s organised blood and faecal tests too. My appointment is next Tuesday.

I was a bit concerned with his reaction because I honestly thought he’d just suggest I up my dose of progesterone to stop the spotting, but he was asking me about any other symptoms I’ve had I told him about the bloating and I’ve been getting constipated too so he wanted to investigate further.

So just thought I’d post this in case anyone else has symptoms it’s probably best to speak to your GP about it and get checked out.

Some GPs do seem that way. When I used vagifem it caused me bad stomach cramps. My GP wanted me to have scans. I knew it was just the vagifem and the cramps had stopped when I stopped the vagifem. It is likely your body reacted to the Provera but your GP wants to double check.
