V atrophy
« on: October 03, 2022, 03:26:41 PM »

Hi ladies

I've been messaging as struggling restarting utrogestan and oestrogel again getting really big sore spots on thigh & breast about size of penny. I'm only taking one pump of oestrogel.

I stopped the pea sized amount of estriol cream I was using as I was afraid to take both and I had prickling in legs which has completely stopped since I stopped the Estriol cream.

My atrophy is really sore now again. I wonder if I should up my oestrogel to 2 pumps I've been using the 1 pump for 10 days now and havent got anymore bumps come up. Would be grateful for any advice please. Thank you.

Vaginal atrophy can be treated as a single condition without other HRT.

Ask your surgery for 'vagifem' which is delivered into the vagina via a pessary: and 'ovestin' to smear on the outer labia: I use this internally and externally via an applicator.  The idea being to use either for at least 2-3 weeks nightly.  Some require it every night, some manage with occasional use, i.e. very 3/4 and 6/7 nights.  It really is Trial and Error at times.

You don't need an exam for this nor is using the two 'too much oestrogen'.  Let us know how you get on.

Hello Hopeful2. I am really sorry to hear you are still reacting to the HRT. I remember how sensitive you are to medications and there are many you are unable to take. Forgive me but did your GP ever refer you to a menopause clinic? I am sorry if you have mentioned this before.

It is good the prickling has gone away now. I remember how bad you felt when trying the VA treatment. Hopefully somebody will be along to advice you about the oestrogel.
