Postmenopausal bleeding
«

I have been on hrt for a long time due to premature menopause.
Never had a problem until now!
Was on oral hrt then changed to patch evorel conti a couple of years ago
A few months ago I then changed to evorel 75 and seperate progestorone.
A few weeks ago I changed back to evorel conti and am bleeding very heavy. This has never happened before.
Has anybody else experienced heavy bleeding when changing hrt even though you are postmenopausal.

I expect the bleeding is down to all the chopping and changing of HRT.
Why did you change from Conti, to 75 Oestrogen and then back to Conti again?
It will be to do with the fluctuating Oestrogen levels, I’m sure,

I changed because I was 😠 grumpy and snappy all the time. I didn't like the seperate progestorone so decided to go back to conti.
Reading online everybody says you shouldnt bleed postmenopausal. Even the gp said it would be unusual to bleed.
Would the change in hormones do that!

Yes the change in hormones can and does cause bleeding I’m afraid, even when post menopausal.
It will be the change of Hrt.
Hopefully once you settle back on conti, that bleeding will stop.
I am post menopausal and bled frequently on evorel and utrogestan. I had to have a coil fitted in the end.

Thankyou Nas.
Looks like I might have to stick with the evorel Conti rather than the seperate utrogestan.
I have a gynae apt Friday just to make sure all OK and no suspicious malignancy x

I would ask for a scan to check everything is OK. You can bleed in the first 6 months of any new conti regime but best to make sure there isn't anything else going on. The guidelines are that any post menopausal bleeding should be investigated.
