Timing of utrogestan in cycle.
« on: August 13, 2022, 05:07:59 PM »

Hi all

Apologies if this has been asked before. I did a search of forum topics but couldn't find anything directly relevant.

I've been taking 100mg utrogestan from days 1 to 25 of my cycle, but am now changing to taking 200 mg on days 15 to 26. However, my withdrawal bleeds have always started ahead of finishing the 25 days of 100 mg utrogestan.

To be specific, if I started my last bleed on day 22 of the last 100 mg utrogestan 25 day cycle, do I count that as day 1 of my next cycle, and start the new 200 mg  regime 15 days later? Or do I finish the 25 days of 100 mg utrogestan, take the usual 3 day break and then count day 29 as day 1 of my next cycle and start the 200mg utrogestan on day 15 of that cycle?

I'm a bit confused, particularly as my body/ natural cycle seems to be overriding the utrogestan, as to whether I follow my body's cycle as it currently is, or follow the prescribed utrogestan cycle?

Can anyone advise? I'd be really grateful for your thoughts, as my GP, helpful as he is, seems a but clueless about HRT generally.

See this *non-commercial* link with diagrams showing how to sync it to your bleeds: https://www.cemcor.ubc.ca/resources/cyclic-progesterone-therapy

My own cycles were always stronger than the hrt one and I found it best to adjust the hrt cycle to my own as. Trying to fit  my cycle to fit in with the hrt one didn't work for me. I would call day 1 the first day of your own bleed and hopefully you will be in step. You should bleed a couple of days after finishing utro
