any one in peri with severe symptom both  emotionally and physically like me, right now I can not cope at all,  used DHEA and what are the results? will DHEA bring on a heavy bleed?

Hi Lilian

Possibly it could but only if your deficient. The only way to know if you are is to do a cortisol and Dhea saliva test, which you will have to pay for privately.

I take a low dose of Dhea (5mg) but it’s important that you monitor levels going forward and don’t take too high a dose.

What symptoms do you have that you feel Dhea may benefit and do you take testosterone? X

I suffer from  vestibular migraine , dizzy  severe nauseous , hot cold intolerance   anxiety , depression   panicky ,   you name it  .... cannot  even get out of the house now, looking for some reassurance on this board.   

|I used to have hyperthyroidism,  the  drug I took have liver toxicity , wonder if this is the causes .....

How awful for you to be experiencing this. My advice is stay clear of the Dhea as it’s only one element of the endocrine system and not one that is usually supplemented without good reason and testing.

So, the symptoms you are experiencing are typical peri symptoms so you should see your Gp and discuss going on hrt.

Also, you say that you used to have hyperthyroidism does that mean you have had an operation to remove part/all of your thyroid gland?

In which case I presume you’re now taking levothyroxine and it’s possible that the dosage is not right.

Tell us some more about the thyroid side of things. X

When you say ‘May have liver toxicity’ , has thus been confirmed by tests?

Yes the symptoms you describe are peri symptoms but you need to make sure your thyroid condition is under control. Have you had thyroid tests recently?

liver number was elevated per my doctor when I was on that meds,  now it seems ok, but somehow I got hemangioma of the liver ...........
but doc just said this is nothing to worry, but you know i got nauseous all the time

Nausea is a very common symptom of peri, so if doctor said nothing to worry about, I’d assume that it’s hrt that you need.

However you may be offered patches so that you avoid the first bypass through the liver.

Get yourself an appointment asap xx
