Evorel patches
« on: July 10, 2022, 02:53:00 PM »

Hi all, back again, would like some advise please. I'm on evorel 100 patches and have been on them for a while and has cured all the symptoms that suddenly came back.
I started on 25 and gradually increased to 100, which is great.
I've had a total hysterectomy back in 2009, menopause I managed with herbal tablets, didn't suffer badly till 2 years ago, anyway went to Dr and was put on HRT as mentioned.
My question is I've started having sweats at night time only, I don't feel hot just damp, no other symptoms , somebody said I could increase the estrogen to 150, I went and cut a 75 patch in half so it was 37.5, I spoke to my Dr about it, and she said she wasn't sure if I could go over the 100, but agreed for be to do the 137.5, it hasn't helped at all, I'm waiting for the drs reply. What else would help, I've heard about testosterone. The patches have made a difference to my joints. I'm not over weight, quite active, and I'm 68, any advise would be helpful thanks

Is the sweating your only symptom? I wouldn’t take the increased dose if it isn’t helping but it depends how long you’ve tried the increase for? I believe night sweats can be a sign of low testosterone, but also other things. I take testosterone myself, but didn’t have that symptom.

Hi
I had to start at 25, couldn't believe I needed to go right upto 100mcg.
Bleeds meant I had to reduce a few times, and am back on 25.
I only get night sweats on 25, no flushes, no fan and I get drips down the middle of my boobs, yuk.

I think there are some women on here who take 6 pumps of gel which would equal 150mcg, but I never went over the 100 so I don't know for sure.

Maybe you do need more, I am pretty ignorant on meno, it's so varied between women it seems. I bot IBS back, but I think that's additional stress from xmas break up, I hope it subsides, as I seem to be getting over the painful part of the breakup, it might be meno, maybe symptoms do get worse, sorry I am not much help, I just thought I would share my experiences.

Been on them 2 months, and suddenly had that period gripping paid, felt headachey and bleed for about 3 days. Has anyone else experienced this and does the bleeding stop, as don’t want to go back to monthly period, with migraine etc. Help!

It's probably best to ask if this can be moved to a new thread (not sure how it works) you'll get more answers then.
Sorry you had such trouble, I had abnormal bleeds, I went to doc, they scanned me and gave me hysteroscopy, I was ok, but needed oestrogen reducing.
Can you talk to your doctor?

My flushes were from the chest upwards, no sweating below the waist, I never heard of menopausal sweating from the wast down.
