I am watching a programme about the international flower trade, mostly grown in Kenya. 300M
lilies are sold through this market annually - pity we don't have smelly vision
Planes fly out from Kenya every night to Holland's auction markets, packed with already sorted and checked stems of flowers. How we can buy flowers so cheaply in the UK I fail to understand now that I have watched this programme.
1 dealer has bought 52,000 stems ready to sell on-line. He does this at auction every day ! Now they are onto tulips - I remember fields++ across Lincolnshire of colour, of course the flowers were picked as it was the bulbs that were required.
