Does anyone know if Utrogestan is a diuretic? I took my first dose on Friday night and on Sunday started needing more wee’s than usual, and in the night and today I am weeing all the time, and feeling like I am in a kind of half awake state.
I do have VA so maybe could be a flare up. I had Utrogestan about maybe 5 years ago and was taken off it because it made me groggy but thought I would try and stick it to see if it passes.

How often do you use the VA treatment?  What does it suggest in the leaflet in the box of Utrogestan?

I use Ovestin 3-4 nights a week, the leaflet doesn’t say about weeing a lot but to take it at night.
I really don’t feel ‘right’ on the Utrogestan, like a bit drunk.
When the DVT clinic said they will contact my doctor about not having my Femston anymire because it’s a tablet I could have cried, because about 5 years ago I had this trial and error before I was on Femeston.

I rarely have to get up in night to use toilet but once on the Utrogestan i had to go twice during night. I hated the stuff, gave up after 8 days.

I just had a phone call with a doctor, about the Utrogestan and he said I should not be taking any HRT at all while I have the blood clot for a month or 2  and if my symptoms return to get in touch as there are other treatments.
Not happy about this, my own doc who put me on the Sandrena and Utrogestan is in surgery tomorrow so I will speak to him tomorrow.
I can still use Ovestin though.

That's correct if you are having treatment for a possible DVT.  Let us know what your GP suggests.

I had an ultrasound scan on Friday, there is a blood clot there. After the scan I saw the DVT nurse who said I need to come off the Femeston conti tablets and ask doc for a HRT that’s not tablets so my own doc prescribed the Sandrena and Utrogestan, I rang today my doc not in surgery so spoke to the doc covering him and he just said shouldn’t be on any HRT for a month or two and see how my symptoms are in 2 months, I’m worried because I have VA as well.

Did he say you have to stop VA treatment too? I thought it OK to continue with it.

He said it is ok to carry on with the Ovestin for VA.

In the meantime, keep a mood/symptom/food diary to chart progress. Have U been given medication to reduce the DVT?  Is the area hot to touch; swollen?

Do continue with the VA treatment, it is very important to get symptoms under control.  Let us know how you get on.

I had injections for 3 days now on tablets for 3 months to treat the clot.
I am worried about being without HRT, it was a battle with my doc to get it, I was tearful, snappy, mood swings, awful time until I got put on it by a lady doctor. I really don’t want to go
back to that.
I spent a fortune in Boots and Holland and Barrett on natural remedies that didn’t work, but maybe something new has come along.

Natural doesn't always provide long lasting results.

There is ZERO increased risk of blood clots with transdermal HRT so you for sure could request a patch or the gel....

Honestly, these male doctors who take women off it at the drop of a hat, could you imagine if we just removed their testosterone overnight for several months....just in case, or something

Whilst I agree there's no increased risk of clots from taking transdermal hrt that isn't the same as it not having an an adverse effect on the treatment for the clot. Have you looked up the treatment your receiving to see if there's been any research on it? It may be one of those annoying things where the dvt specialist knows little about hrt and the hrt specialist knows little about dvt treatment.

I agree with Sheila but also wondering whether you have had your clotting factors tested?
