Made my
« on: July 02, 2022, 05:04:36 PM »

After alot of consideration, I've decided to come off HRT & go on sertreline. I will speak to Gynae as soon as i can to see if i can stop it abrutly or if he has a procedure that you follow.
I don't foresee a problem as its only been 3 mths but HRT has given me PMS, whuchi didn't get before.
My main reason for starting was to control my anxiety, very mild flushes & fatigue.
But i realised that HRT was causing more fatigue for me & aggravating my already painful joints from my CF.
Apart from a few days last week where i felt amazing, I've found my anxiety much, much worse.
I've looked at my notes that I've kept & shows, yes i do have increased anxiety at certain parts of my cycle but i do get better days. Atm, I'm seeing very few good days.
Its also messed up my blood sugars & I've had a severe hypo that i slept through. It lasted 3 hrs & i almost went into a coma.
My diabetes is triggered by my hormones but I've never gone that low. My diabetic Dr said i need to consider stopping HRT.
I don't want to frighten any diabetic people going on HRT. I have Cystic Fibrosis related Diabetes & even though the illness is treated the same way with insulin, it has different triggers.
Maybe i will need to go on HRT sometime in the near future again but i feel the struggle is too hard. There is only so much my body & mind can take.
Thank you all for your advice, help & understanding & no doubt i will be on here soon.  But as i said, i need to talk with gynae first about how to come off HRT.
I'm very nervous about trying Sertreline but the reviews from people who have my problems of intrusive thoughts, anxiety & OCD says it helps quieten the mind. But the first 2 wks can be the hardest.
Wish me luck 😳 🙏

I do wish you luck Sheri, you are a brave lady and it sounds like you are listening to your body and what your gut is telling you it needs now.

Let us know how you get on with your journey xx
