Femseven sequi vs evorel sequi - peri issues
« on: May 21, 2022, 10:29:20 AM »

I've been on evorel sequi patches for 2 years and am finding lately I'm getting achey fingers, my thumb joints are getting painful and having headaches and leg cramps. I don't feel as bad as I was before taking these (no hot sweats or tears) but wondering if I should either switch brands and try another patch such as femseven or see if I can adjust my dose?

I'm getting lots of water retention, swelling and struggling to shift weight but could be because I'm so tired / achey and being not as active. Struggling to focus in work and making mistakes.

GP said it was impossible to do bloods on peri, wasn't very helpful. Tried utrogestan and oestrogel last year but kept messing up my dates on when to take / stop utrogestan tablets. Found patches easier. Wondering if I could add a pump of my spare oestrogel? Or would I make things worse x

Hi Amanda52, sorry you feel awful.
I started everol sequi patches a month ago today. I also had severe anxiety prior to starting them, but it has decreased somewhat...more a grumble in the background most days. I did have a bad anxiety attack on the 13th day of the estrogen patch but put it down to ovulating which has always been a tough time for me.
I had no problems with the conti that over concerned me with anxiety. I was worried it would tip me over the edge but i stayed quite calm. I did have odd moments of anxiety but i calmed myself down easier than i would've prior to starting HRT.
I had my period yesterday on 13th day of conti & i was rough. Anxiety was high, painful aches,  sinus problems, swollen belly & fatigued.
Back on estrogen patch & I'm slowly feeling better. Body still aching but I'm on really heavy. Anxiety is lowering & i feel a tad better.
I'm hopeful when i ovulate again, it will be better as usually i will stay in anxiety mode the whole time. And its as you said, you wake up with anxiety, go to be with anxiety.
I have also started magnesium glycinate & I've heard it helps with anxiety, low mood & insomnia. Started today so too early to tell yet.
I hope HRT works for you & your body settles into it soon.
And if it doesn't work for either of us, we can always try another type.
Good luck.
