37.5mg and 25mg patch
« on: May 25, 2022, 08:58:16 AM »

Hi there, just wondering if anyone uses a 37.5 Estradot patch and a 25 Estradot patch together to give a total of 62.5mg I’ve just been prescribed this at my request as I was on 50mg Estradot patch but upped to 75mg Estradot patch as was still having symptoms on the 50, I felt so much better on the 75 but after 7 weeks of being on it I started to bleed and had very sore lumpy breasts so I panicked and went back to my 50 patches. I think maybe I jumped the gun and should of waited a while as my headaches have returned and feeling a bit anxious again, it’s nearly 3 weeks since going back to the 50 patch. I thought that maybe trying the 62.5mg first before leaping back to the 75mg although my Doctor said it was such a small amount it probably wouldn’t make any difference. I also asked my doctor for some Ovestin cream to use on the outside bits alongside my vagifem but she said I couldn’t have both or increase my Vagifem from 2 a week to 3. She said it was all too much estrogen.
Anyway should I put the two patches close together when I apply them and does anyone use this amount instead of 75. My first time posting on here 😊 been on HRT for 19 weeks now but been using Vagifem for nearly 5 years.

Hello Diggers and welcome to the forum. Many women use both vagifem and ovestin cream. The ovestin is great for applying to the outside. Your GP is not knowledgeable about vagifem and ovestin. They can be used daily. I personally use ovestin daily as my symptoms are bad.

I am not sure about the patches but hopefully somebody will post soon with advice.

Yes thought I could as I’ve read women use both on here. I like my GP but she definitely isn’t knowledgeable on menopause or HRT it was the typical case of her trying to put me on anxiety tablets even though all my symptoms were typical of menopause, I said I wanted to go on HRT. Thank you for your reply and I will push for some Ovestin.

Hi Diggers. If you want approximately 62.5mg you would be better using a 75mg patch and cutting 1/4 of it off. Far easier than putting on two patches and only one prescription rather than two. There is a forum member who does exactly that to get 62.5mg as 75 is too much and 50 not quite enough x

Thank you for your reply, I’ve actually just collected my prescription so I’m starting tomorrow on change over night. That is a good idea to cut a 75 and definitely easier than fiddling around putting to patches on, anyway I have them now so hopefully it’s worth it x
