Lenzetto dosage
« on: May 02, 2022, 02:51:55 PM »

Hi Everyone - asking for and would be so grateful for some input/advice on Lenzetto dosage.  I was put on it last year after swopping over from Oestrogel on a specialist's advice.  Started off on one spray for a week and upped it to 2 a week later on her advice.  2 sprays felt way too much so taped off half of the applicator and eventually got it down to 1 and a quarter sprays which seemed fine for a while.  I apply it every evening at around 9pm.  The last few weeks have felt increasingly horrendous in the early morning I wake up with panic attacks and palpitations and acute anxiety. Its gets worse around 10 am with headaches, dizziness, awful anxiety and feel really weak and frankly ill and washed out and this lasts most of the day but start to feel better in the evenings.  I thought it must be that I was getting too low a dose so upped it to one and a third sprays daily but felt even worse so am now wondering if for me its actually too high a dose.  I used to be on just over 2 pumps of Oestrogel.  On oestrogel my blood level was 98 and after 3 months of Lenzetto it went up to 240.  I can't get an appt with my GP till the end of May and am feeling so awful and ill and am just not sure what to do re dosage right now.  I did wonder if one of the pumps is not working so will try a new pack tonight and just do one spray.  My GP can't get any more Lenzetto at the moment anyway due to the shortage so would want to try and make my supply last as long as possible.  Oestrogel just didn't absorb for me Lenzetto clearly did according to my last blood test.  Such a minefield.  Any advice would be hugely appreciated or anyone else who has or is having a similar experience.  I had a hysterectomy many moons ago so am on Oestrogen only HRT.  Many thanks xx P.S> I have just read on the British Menopause Society that ''Lenzetto THREE sprays(40mcgm) equivalent to TWO measures of Oestrogel 50 microgram'' .....now I am totally confused as I understood ONE spray of Lenzetto was equivalent to TWO measures of Oestrogel  :-\ :'( aaagh

I will be watching with interest, as considering making a switch from the 75 patch to lenzetto, with Mirena for progesterone.

Looking at the BMS site, it does state that 3 sprays equates to a 50 patch  and on the Newson site, it says 1/2 sprays equates to 25 patch?

I actually don’t know. God knows how many sprays I would need to equate to a 75 patch then, probably 5/6!

My thinking is, that it is a relatively new product still and maybe there aren’t enough women using it, to really know how it works, in comparison to the gel for example? Chelsea and Westminster told me that they don’t rate it at all and say it is weak. My own specialist thinks it’s okay.

I guess you have to be guided by your symptoms. So for me, if my bladder problem returns, I know I won’t be on enough at 2 sprays. But you only get 56 pumps, so any more and you are going to need3 months supply at a time!

It’s very hard and I wish you well Pippa xx

Hi Nas, thanks so much for your reply.  I have actually been changed off Lenzetto onto Everol 50 which I am starting tonight.  I just felt too ill on Lenzetto to carry on.  Am hoping so much the patches work for me.  I have no idea whether my dose on Lenzetto was too high or too low but it is so hard to regulate it even by taping off the applicator. Tried altering the dose on medical advice several times over the last year but never got a good lasting result.  I guess everyone absorbs differently too. My GP said the patches give a steadier supply over 24 hours.  Fingers crossed xxx

Yes patches are much more consistent I think. No highs and lows like gel and spray.

Fingers crossed you get relief soon on the patches.
It’s a total nightmare trying to work it all out!

Pippa I can't offer you any words of wisdom but just wanted to wish you lots of luck with the change to patch - it's horrible when you feel everything is up in the air again after being stable for a while.
