Evorel Sequi to Conti due to Fibroids
« on: April 27, 2022, 09:15:53 AM »

Hi all, I have recently been advised to move from Evorel Sequi patches to Conti patches due to my bleeding returning. I have been on Sequi for nearly 3 years and my breakthrough bleeds tailed off towards the latter half of last year but suddenly started again around December, long drawn out bleeding lasting for a good part of the month. I mentioned this to the nurse who was doing my blood pressue check and she arranged for a doctors appt. I've since had a scan and have a few fibroids which I'm assuming have developed due to the estrogen I'm gladly accepting into my body! I have generally felt good on HRT and it has allowed me to get fit and healthy and in turn that has helped me cope with some difficult times lately. But my question is what do I expect when I go straight onto Conti after I finish my last Sequi patch? - I'm worried about changing something I'm already used to and functioning with but also know that the ongoing fibroid situation with bleeding etc can't go on.
I think because I am 54 now the doctor may have recommended conti anyway due to probably being through menopause. My main reason for taking HRT originally was due to joint pain and not sleeping/no energy.
Has anyone made the transisiton recently? And anyone with fibroids seen an improvement with them/bleeding?
Thank you! Nicola.

MayB put both products: separately : into the search box to see what pops up?  Make notes ;-).

If a regime suits, I would need a very good reason to alter ......... age shouldn't come into it.

thanks yes I've done that, I had a good conversation about going onto to conti due to bleeding but that person didn't have fibroids, the good reason to alter is because of the fibroids - as far as I know!

I think you will just have to try the continuous regime and see how you get on. For me it didn't sort out the bleeding due to a v large fibroid and I ended up having a hysterectomy. That's not to say it won't work for you though! Fingers crossed it will work well.

Thank you for getting back to me, yes I guess it might not help with the bleeding either way! I hope you have been OK after having your hysterectomy, such a big thing to go through xx
