You’re welcome. I’m afraid I don’t know what the blood test results mean as I’m nearly 46 so no one will be testing my blood - they just take it that I’m in peri menopause (luckily). I guess with my symptoms it’s pretty obvious too.
I do know that FSH can be a rough guide to whether your fertility is winding down as it were. But it must be taken day 3-5. Even then you need two months data to go on as there is so much natural variability anyway.
I understand how drained and fed up you must be. It’s awful.
For me the anxiety crept up on me and I recognised it (having suffered before) and just kind of blamed it on covid stress etc for about a year and a half. Eventually I realised that it had become really quite bad without me realising and so had the hot flushes, aching, tiredness, palpitations, sleep and so on at the same time. The techniques I usually used for anxiety/depression weren’t working any more and the periods of feeling bad were getting longer. But not constant- there was a big swing in how I felt according to my cycle. So two weeks rubbish and two weeks OK basically.
For me the CBT was one of the most helpful things. It works really well on anxiety if you work hard on it. I would stick with your medication for anxiety as it is and look into getting some CBT. If I were you I would stop the HRT for a while just so that you don’t have so much complication about what’s going on. You can always restart it if you find the hot flushes etc coming back and causing problems. You may choose to keep it going for now, that’s up to you. You need to keep the dose constant for the whole three months though so you can judge properly.
I still have the physical symptoms of anxiety sometimes (as I do think it’s hormonal based this time) but the CBT has helped me to not bother about the feelings and just carry on anyway. Have you asked your GP if you can be referred or tried to self refer?
I just worry that these private clinics are basically run to dole out HRT and perhaps not always look at the big picture. They are there to make a profit after all! I do get they are a lifesaver for some women who come across obstacles in NHS care because of their age or useless GPs etc.
Just some things for you to think about. Hope you are doing ok.
