Testosterone
« on: April 02, 2022, 12:00:48 PM »

Hi again,
Are any of you testogel?
I was prescribed it a while back, but have never really reached the right point in my  journey to take it.

Been on femeston Conti a good 8 weeks now and mood is quite stable, but sleep and anxiety are not great at times. I’ve got a blood test on Monday to check Oestrogen levels and thought if they are reasonable, I may add in a blob of T a couple of times a week, instead of upping Oestrogen ( which tends to lead to bleeding) and would require a complete regime change again.

Thanks  :)

Will that work? As I understand it if you're deficient in oestrogen T get converted to some sort of androgen so perhaps it will still increase your lining? I'm not sure it can as oestrogen replacement for your symptoms but not for your womb lining.
Having said that sometimes you have things to see and even if it doesn't work it shouldn't do you any harm. My anxiety and insomnia took 3 months to go so you may yet see more improvement from the femeston. Personally I would wait for the 3 months before changing anything so you know what causes any change.

Thanks sheila, think you are right.
It’s like I feel ‘ okay’ but can’t help thinking i could feel ‘better’.

Will give the femeston a further month. My main issue in the past has been bleeding ( well on the patch). If I don’t bleed this month and perhaps next, I may be okay and will perhaps introduce testosterone then? If bleeding happens, going to have to investigate the coil. More upheaval, settling, watching and waiting!

Hi NAS I know,we have only just spoken on my post,, but anxiety is my main issue at the mo.
I did ask my clinic what if it adds to my anxiety? What id I put too much on...

Dr Watson told me it does not make anxiety worse   he said the worst possible outcome is that I could get acne or greasy hair  apparently its known to be good for anxiety and I even have print outs that say this xxx

Hi Vicky,
Yes testosterone is meant to have benefits, suppose it’s a case of what you want it to help with and how you tolerate it.

I have a gut feeling my Oestrogen is going to be low, as I’ve dropped from a 75 patch ( 3 pumps) to 1mg ( 2 pumps roughly) Reason being, bleeding on the patch ( post menopause) .

It’s all so hard I’ve decided and so many balls to juggle. All while trying to work, run a home, drive, decorate, garden, etc etc 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

It's so worrying thinking of changing your hrt routine, you just want to be settled with something.  But then our bodies change and what used to work doesn't anymore and getting sense or time from GP's is difficult. .. . bleeding is always a worry. I hope you sort something out that works.
