Well coincidentally I just this minute got a text from my surgery saying my repeat of Vagifem is now Vagirux.  Looking this up online it seems it's cheaper.

Welcome Millymoo, sorry I can’t answer your question as I am using Vagifem but not tried Vagirux (awful name) hopefully someone else will have knowledge of your experience with it.

It looks like it’s going to replace Vagifem in the future and it has just one applicator which is great at least for the environment. Same composition as Vagifem so hopefully will be ok for majority of us that need it.

I found the applicator rougher. Perhaps if tissue is dry, there's been a slight tear or scratch? Vagirux didn't agree with me and I got back to Vagifem. Is there still blood?

I am not getting on with Vagirux.
I hate the applicator and feel sure it isn't working in the same way as Vagifem?
Not sure what to do as my GP has switched me over to vagirux.

How about saying to your gp that you've read on MM that people are finding, as you are, that the applicator is not as reliable as Vagifem and you would prefer the reliability of the Vagifem applicators? I found the Vagirux applicator cheaper quality and less rigid than Vagifem and it needs a double click to eject the tablet which you don't always get right. This is how I expressed my concerns about Vagirux and it was swapped back for Vagifem without question. I think it's known that this is an inferior delivery method. 🤞

You have hit the nail on the head post meno!
The applicator is rubbish and has cracked I’ve noticed.
Then it can take a couple of goes for the tablet to eject and I don’t think it’s hitting the spot. Hence bladder issues this week.

Yes JP, that’s a point.
I’ve had to ditch the Vagirux, buy some vagifem and make GP appointment to get it switched over. In the meantime, plaster poor vagina in ovestin and hope the stupid bladder issue resolves over the weekend.

God I am sick of it all.

Hi - I sometimes get issued vagifem, sometimes the generic (2 applicators) and sometimes Vagirux (1 only). It depends what the pharmacy give me ,(generic is on the prescription).
I have started to wash the Vagifem applicators after use when I get them, to reuse with the generic or vagirux tablet since those applicators are bendy and scratchy and pretty rubbish in my opinion.
The generic tablets fit properly into the blue vagifem applicators.
I asked my gp for vagifem- she said to ask the pharmacist - who said to ask the gp ...

This may not work for everyone but if I am not given vagifem I have just been inserting the generic/vagirux,  with my finger.

Same here Haydo. I was given Estradiol once, no brand name and they were fine except for the applicator so inserted myself. Been given Vagifem since so a one off but the ingredients in the Estradiol were identical so was ok.
