Hi

I’ve now been on Sandrena 2mg and Utrogestan 100mg each day since July last year.  I’ve had no spotting/bleeding until now and I’ve done nothing different but I’m now experiencing spotting.  Does anyone have any advice as to whether I should contact my Dr?  Thanks.

Hi.

It’s always best to tell the doctor about your spotting, let them decide.
They may order a scan to check things out, which is quite normal procedure.

You should see your doctor. It's important to check it isn't caused by anything sinister.

I’ve been advised by text from a doctor to stop the Utrogestan for 3 days and start again on day 15 - 26 but taking 2 tablets not 1.  Therefore 200mg a day.  I presume I start day 1 in 3 days time?  Slightly confused!

You seem to be going on a sequi regime so day 1 is the first day of your bleed and you take it days 15-26.
Are you peri or meno (1 year without a bleed while not on hormones)? When was the last time you had a bleed?

I’m peri and last bleed without HRT was 3rd Feb 2021.  I was on Novofem tablets  from March to July 2021 with a few days light bleeding each month.  Then changed to Sandrena 1mg then increased to 2mg after 3 months and started on sequi regime of Utrogestan 200mg and then changed to 100mg every day, as there was no bleed at all and I was finding I was really tired over the 12 days whilst on Utrogestan 200mg.  I’m 53.

It sounds as though you're not quite ready for a conti regime yet but if it's caused by your own hormones it takes the worry away.
