Author Topic: Pelvic floor physio was really good for pain relief withsitting and bladder etc.  (Read 2720 times)

Hi just posting about how great a pelvic floor physio was in relieving some pain I had with pelvic floor, bladder and bottom area from overactive pelvic muscles.  My gyno thought it might be vulvodynia at one point.  Just as I was feeling better on HRT and got my hrt sorted I started feeling like I was sitting on a golf ball all the time.  It got to the point it was hard to sit down and I was sitting on a cushion at work, home and didn't want to sit but stand.   Anyway it was tight pelvic floor muscles which not only made me feel like I was sitting on a ball (the ball feeling inside getting worse when you lean over to touch your toes was a good indication it was pelvic floor muscles apparently) but also seemed to aggravate and cause some bladder pain.     Who knew a women physio someone stretching out your insides took away so much pain.  I now use a Therawand (haha) internally to poke my inside pelvic muscles which are overactive and pelvic floor relaxation exercises all the time.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmXGDOMU9EU  .  Just like a physio for a back there was some great points inside that was really tight along the sides internally.    Anyway it's helped with some bladder pain and perineum pain and the horrible feeling I'm sitting on a golf ball hasn't been back. Just wanted to post in case anyone has a similar experience a pelvic floor physio is worth the investment in going to see. Went to a Colorectal Doc first and he recommended the physio after checking things through which was good to get the all clear as well but wish I had done something earlier and found out the solution to this one earlier.  Cheers from Jen

As for touching my toes: not something I've ever been able to do, my physio was amazed recently ....... as a prem baby, not expected to live, I don't suppose the usual hip stretching tests were done after I was born  ::).

Hopefully not that you have a regime, it will continue to work!

I had physio for a prolapse many years ago instead of surgery, wasn't a quick fix but glad I went down that route.
