On Evorel patches. Should i increase the strength?
« on: February 01, 2022, 09:56:30 AM »

Hi

Have been on Evorel Sequi patches for 5 years very successfully. Suddently symptoms that i found difficult have strengthened ie creaking joints and most especially itching. i formerly had terrible sleep but fortunately this has not got worse.

So the itching is bad. i am also 11months fron last period so think it likely that this is it - actual menopause. i could then switch to the patches without progesterone.

Can i then increase the strength a little wth the non progesterone patches? is that a good idea?

Any advice appreciated. i am lucky in that my doctors are good and helpful but they dont know as much as this board :)

Hi  you will always need to have a progesterone even in post menopause, if you still have your womb. x

No, the progesterone in the conti patches isn't enough for added oestrogen. You could have a higher strength oestrogen patch with a separate prog eg utrogeston or I think some people have used a patch and a half of each to keep the balance the same (but check up on this) .
