Hi ladies I have been on 0.5 Androfem since September and 0.75 since end of November! Brain fog much improved and at first so did my fatigue and aches and pains bit recently I’ve felt a real dip in energy and also feeling a bit vacant again in day to day life m. Results were Testosterone 3.5. FAI 1.9 and SHBG 180. Oestradiol 2612- I’m peri so know that can be a fluctuation so not worried about that, just feel the Androfem is not working, any thought s appreciated

The ref ranges given by the RCOG (Google...) are:

Testosterone (female) 0.5-3.0 nmol/l
Testosterone (male) 8-30 nmol/l
Free androgen index: 0.5-6.5%
Sex-hormone binding globulin: 18-144 nmol/l

Assuming your are in the same uniots and the T was total T.

You FAI looks on the low side and SHBG high and T slightly above the range - though ranges vary between labs. Your estradiol is extremely high even for ovulatory peak - but if you are peri and/or the blood was taken soon after you applied gel for example ( if that's what you use) then this could be the explanation. What other HRT are you taking?

Hopefully you have had baseline blood tests etc to establish other possible causes for your symptoms.

Thanks Hurdity! Awaiting reply from specialist as to next plan of action! My T result is higher than my last test but my FAI continues to be low and can’t get my SHBG down??? Have been on Androfem since September!
