Brain fog?? What’s yours like?
« on: January 15, 2022, 11:57:17 PM »

So a few day ago, I slept horribly. Got up in the morning and couldnt remember which way the faucet turned for hot water. We have a new house and been in it 6 months, and TBH this is all on autopilot so not 100% sure I could ever tell you which way it was.. but I would always just know… you know? Well i didnt. I worried for an hour then decided it was just a bad nights sleep. Two days pass and I go to get a vitamin pill, and i get distracted for a second and then cant remember if I took it or not. And then tonight… I cant remember the word for “Dresser” and have to ask my husband. I am now panicking its Alzheimer’s (runs in my family although not early onset). However I also wonder if its somehow stress related as I am going through tests right now on my boobs for possible C….. whats your fog like? This IS fog right ???

Hi GM,
I was exactly the same as you, I couldn’t remember my date of birth doing a phone security check! I thought I was getting dementia.
I started Testosterone and the fog went really quickly, brain now feels alert, not forgetting word’s mid sentence etc.

Hope your tests go well.

Brain fog, I have it, I can’t remember words of things. I say stupid stuff, gives me and hubby a good laugh. I’ve been living in my house for over seven years and the other day I couldn’t remember which light switch I wanted. And my spelling is terrible, it took me over 5 times to spell “switch”.
And I do and say stupid stuff in public too, I just say “sorry I’m menopausal, and have no idea what’s happening :o
I’ve actually gone to rub underarm deodorant on my lips  ;D, luckily I realised just in time.
I try to not worry about it, and just have a good laugh at myself

It's usual for me.  My friend and I have complete conversations without filling in the words but we get by.

I too often look at the taps and wonder which way  :-\ I've lived here since the 1980s.  Names - forget them.  Easily.  My brain feels foggy all the while, like it needs a lot more sleep.

Does Alzheimers 'run in families'?  Isn't it what we called senile dementia which came on slowly in the elderly?  Giving it a name means that research can be funded, research which the government should be doing.

Has anyone taken anything that works for brain fog ? Or any better explanation than it ‘menapause’ I’m 40, but feel like my brain is a bag of sludge…..  been on HRT for 4 months but hasn’t made much difference to my brain.,,,  would appreciate any one who has figured out what might help (I’m on all the herbs) or suggestions in underlying problems….
