Morning.  You can forget about all the nasty warnings you have been told - by whom exactly?

HRT will protect heart and bone strength.  How old are you?

The 1st thing your GP/Practice Nurse should do is a full blood count to check VitD levels; low levels can cause intense tiredness; iron levels, thyroid function tests - some of what you describe can be due to thyroid disfunction which can be adjusted if necessary.

Anxiety and panic attacks can be treated with appropriate medication.  HRT may help as can some anti-depressant medications which can sometimes ease any flushes.

What has your GP recommended?

Hi weeloz. No need to be nervous here. We know how you are feeling!

I am on patch HRT (Evorel) and have been for the past 14 years. I'm 67 now and it has made such a difference to my life. It takes around three months before you can tell whether a particular HRT suits you. It's important to know this before you start as there may be a few side effects in the beginning such as breast tenderness and some PMT type symptoms depending on which progesterone you have as part of your HRT.

It is easy to get worried about the risks of HRT but these are very small. You have to consider quality of life really and the current NICE guidelines are that women can use HRT indefinitely if needed.

Have a good browse through the posts on here and also the HRT info in the menu at the top of the screen. Let us know what you decide.

CLKD thanks for the reply I am 52 years old, I haven't had blood test or that just a coversation over the phone with my doctor . Going through the types of hrt etc . She said she can give me anti depressants too if I wanted to try them instead of HRT but I hated they are so difficult to come off of too
