Most are just pro choice, which is very different.
Nothing wrong with pro choice until your choice takes the life of someone else. You can't stab someone or deliberately infect them with AIDS so why is it OK to spread a deadly virus?
Even within the UK there were areas where death rates were worse than others. More densely populated, more obese or unhealthy people, more older people, multi generational households etc etc, even how the stats are compiled. I don't think we can make a meaningful comparison between the UK and Sweden unless you take these other factors into account.

People decline the vaccine for many reasons, often health ones.  I myself have had previous problems with a vaccine but chose to have it.  Meant waiting in the centre the first two times, whilst it was checked out, including phone calls.  Unfortunately the booster did for me so I shan't have anymore.

As for Sweden, what other factors do you mean??

There are two types of choice or freedom - may have some relevance here:-
1) The freedom to do as one wishes
2) The freedom not to have things forced on one.

I want the freedom of not having covid forced on me by those that won't be vaccinated or wear masks.

We have to remember that our Ancestors went to War to keep this Island free ........ which includes the freedom not to take the vaccinations.  However, it then comes down to protecting the public rather than the individual.  I never thought twice .

It's just different types of freedom. It's the protecting other people really isn't it?

How about freedom to protect your own health?

That's why I had the 3 vaccines.  The third has harmed my health, so no more.

Ah the "freedom to protect own health" line.  That would be fine if those concerned took other measures to prevent the spread of the disease.

So, if a fourth vaccine is recommended and I chose not to have it, what would you have me do???

All through the pandemic I never thought it sensible to compare how the UK was doing in comparison to other countries. The demographics in each are all different.

I would ask that you observe mask wearing, hand hygiene and keeping distance from other people.
You've had 3 vaccines which more than many have had so hopefully you should have some element of protection from the disease.

Aprilflower - we have always had the choice in the UK.  If you feel that your last one affected you then if you decide against, as with seasonal 'flu and D&V we have to take the risk.  Hopefully with most of the populis being vaccinated, people won't feel as ill if they happen to catch C-19.  I don't think anyone needs to feel guilty nor pressurised.  I never felt the requirement to have the seasonal 'flu vaccine as I have stated, I keep well away from others during the D&V season too  ;).  Keeping everything crossed now.  Of course  :-\

I love my masks.  We maintain hand washing etc. which someone last night suggested is the best way of combating most seasonal Germs - can't remember who it might have been, on the News I think.

Reading in the news that all restrictions may be dropped in England except for facemasks.  I'm in Scotland and it was reported that the Scots may be wearing masks for years to come!!!  I absolutely hate them with a passion.  I don't wear one and the only option for me is to stay in as I would hate to be accosted for being sans mask.  I personally think now it should be up to the individual.  And I do think even the demographic in the UK is so different.  I live in a tiny town where I could choose to shop when I was practically the only shopper.  That is not the same as a packed Oxford Street at Christmas and I think the rules should suit this.  I have had three vaccines and I would test every single day if I was allowed out without a mask.  Three jabs, a negative test, so why do I need a mask?  There will be nothing normal at all about life moving forward, I personally dread it, and my mental health is shot to pieces.   :'(
