Being green at C.mas
« on: November 19, 2021, 07:38:00 AM »

We have had our tree for over 20 years, in the loft dressed; ready to be pulled down through the hatch.

So may I offset my carbon footprint when I switch on my outdoors lights against the above ?

Do you have LED lights for your tree? They use much less power and last longer than incandescent bulbs.

Our indoor tree has lights that are years old.  Plugged into the electric.  The ones round the trees are plugged in, can't be certain which bulbs they have on.  I think that they are OK.  They remain outside all year round, switched on any time now ;-)

I can see adverts for decorations on UK TV now - I wonder how much of that will be thrown at New Year, I amazes me the stuff that goes into landfill  >:( etc. when I take rubbish to the tip.  I want to jump out of the car and grab stuff  ;D

My tree is now several years old, easily 10.  It has built in tiny fibre optic lights which change colour and is absolutely lovely.
