Hi I'm new to this forum. I'm having problems with the hot flushes. I've recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I've had to stop my Hrt, I've had my operation and I'm now waiting for my chemo. The night flushes ate the worse. I'm not allowed to have any treatment with hormones in. I'm hoping someone will have some suggestions.

Sorry for your news. Have you looked at the ovarian cancer support group - Ovacome - for advice?
Some anti-depressants can ease hot flushes. Your Consultant should have more information to discuss with you, have you been referred back to your GP?
Let us know how you get on with the chemotherapy

Hi gele_g. Sorry to hear about your cancer but glad you are receiving treatment.
As CLKD says a low dose of SSRI anti depressants has been seen to reduce hot flushes or there is also good results from a blood pressure medication called Clonidine (Dixarit) so maybe one of these will help you. Good luck with your chemo. Let us know how you get on

Thanks for your messages. My consultant has already mentioned those drugs. Wanted something more natural, with less possible side effects.

If your Consultant approves of those drugs, I would go for them. It can take a while for the body to find a balance with HRT and there aren't many 'natural' options.
All 'natural' options are basically chemicals and many drugs are synthesised from plants - it's the fillers and outer coating that can cause problems for a few people. This is common with many medications across all medical conditions.
Let us know how you get on. MayB make a mood/symptom/food diary to chart progress?
