Post Menopausal
« on: October 11, 2021, 01:04:22 PM »

Hi everyone  :)
I wanted to get some advice on symptoms if that’s okay. My last period was April 2020 and my doctor says even though the menopause came early for me I’m now post menopausal.

Apart from my period being erratic prior to them stopping, I really didn’t get any meno symptoms until last year. Now though my hot flushes are more frequent and I can’t regulate my body temperature at all and it’s driving me mad. My anxiety is through the roof and I was already anxious before my hormones went haywire. I’m also itchy and wearing a bra is unbearable because it worsens the itching. Then on top of this, they and my armpits ache sometimes which makes not wearing a bra terrible. I’ve also had strange pulling sensations in my breasts if I move in a certain way, but touch wood, this hasn’t bothered me for this past week. This has worried me sick.

So, what I’m wondering is, is this all normal for post menopausal?

Yep.  How old are U?   No woman is every 'too early' for menopause.  Has your GP recommended HRT to protect heart and bones, as well as talking you through your diet and exercise regime?

Browse round, make notes ;-).  As oestrogen levels drop muscles may become lax = aches and pains.  Also the body may become dry: inside and out  :o.  When did U last have thyroid function blood tests as this can cause a person to feel cold.

I haven't worn a bra since surgery in 1996.

Hi, I’m 47.

It was a different GP than my usual one who said this to me and she said to consider an hrt patch and also another thing, was it progesterone… I can’t recall. Sorry.

No, nothing was said about diet or exercise and they’re not doing routine blood tests at my surgery at the moment.

Hormone blood tests are reliably unreliable  ::)

MayB keep a mood/food/symptom diary to chart progress.  Decide which symptom you would like ease first?

Any questions, ask away.

Hi Mucha

Yes, that all seems normal for post menopause. As your oestrogen levels drop the symptoms can get worse. X
