Phenergan
« on: October 04, 2021, 11:51:09 AM »

Hi ladies

My dr has given me some phenergan tablets for my anxiety and trouble sleeping. They are an antihistamine, but can have a sedating effect.

Has anyone ever used these?

I’m hoping they will help with my anxiety sickness in the morning if I take one at night.

It was common to treat travel sickness.  I vaguely remember it as a green liquid  :o  :-X

'Kwells' was the 1 that I took when travelling.  MayB take it after you get into bed incase it catches up quickly ;-).  When I take anything like that, I keep waking to see if I've been sleeping  ::)

I was given these in the 50s! I had severe asthma before more effective meds were available. I suspect given to help me and everyone else some sleep!

I used to give this to my babies in the eighties to help them sleep!

I was prescribed these when I had trouble sleeping when I had been prescribed sertraline before I was prescribed HRT. They do work incredibly well but as its a antihistamine it does give you a dry mouth and a bit of a foggy head!!

Scrubdub

Did you feel drowsy the next day?

Not drowsy more foggy headed than anything- A cold shower helped. If I hadn't slept well the prev night I'd take a phenagan and head to bed about 9 so I'd get a chunk of sleep and I'd be awake by 5am but the foggy feeling would go about 6.30- 7 am.
I find my sleep pattern around the week before my period is shocking so I'd use it to get a decent night's sleep before work.
I've tried melatonin too but that make me feel quite low in the mornings.

Well I took one around 10. Slept until 7! Had to go back to bed around 10.30 and slept again until 12.
My sickness has gone, my anxiety very much reduced… my restless legs gone…. But I’m feeling a bit ‘ one flew over the cuckoos nest’ foggy if you know what I mean.

Yep.  I'm like that every morning .........  tnx 4 the update!

Now 2 decide which you prefer?  MayB take the dose earlier?  But not B4 you get into the bath!!

I found that a small banana daily cured my restless leg syndrome.

I might take half a dose tonight. See how I feel on that.

Do you take medication that makes you feel so tired, or is that just the way you are? Xx

I dream a lot: long, busy, involved - my brain picks up a news item from the day and mixes it with people/animals/scenarios.  Leaves me knackered most mornings!  Add to that ADs which can cause the hung over feeling: much better than the depression though.  Not working I can accommodate how tired I feel each day, snatching an afternoon sleep if necessary.

Half a dose may B what you need.
