She's an idiot.

1 can use 'ovestin' or 'vagifem' in the vagina as well as 'ovestin' on the outer labia etc..  You can't 'overdose' on oestrogen  ::) because symptoms are due to lack of!!

The idea is that for either 'ovestin' or 'vagifem' - whoops, tea is ready - be back later  ;D

As I was saying:

the product is inserted into the vagina for 10-14 nights to ease symptoms, longer if necessary.  Then a maintenance amount every few nights.  Some find that using 'ovestin' on the outer labia region also helps.  There are 'sylc' and 'yes' moisturisers which some ladies find useful.

Some require VA treatment every night, plus moisturisers.  One size doesn't always fit all .

Read our 'bladder issues' and 'Vaginal Atrophy' threads ;-) make notes.  Is there another GP in the practice who is interested in women's health?  You could also speak to a Pharmacist!

I’m blessed with a wonderful doctor who lets me do what I want to ease my symptoms.
What made the biggest change for me was to use both Vagifem and Ovestin internally. This is my current routine
Night 1- Vagifem internally and Ovestin externally
Night 2- Ovestin internally
Night 3- Vagifem internally and Ovestin externally
Night 4- nothing
And repeat, I also like Yes VM and Olive and Bee.
And I really don’t think you can overload on Ovestin and would be safe to use everyday

Tnx Lyncola - that's very comprehensive.  It makes me angry that GPs still don't get it!
