HRT patches - start on full patch or half patch??
« on: July 16, 2021, 08:33:28 PM »

Hi,

About to start on Evorel Sequi patches. Can I just ask whether people start with a half patch or a whole patch?
Thanks!

Hi Kiki

I would go by what your prescriber says as I'm sure each case is different.

I was advised to start on half a patch for three months until my review. By my review it was apparent that half wasn't enough for me so my specialist moved me up to a full patch.

I am just finishing my firstborn of full patches.

I wondered the same Kiki as I'm about to start them.  I keep putting it off, I'm nervous.  I've read elsewhere on this forum that half might not be enough, some are maybe advised to drop to half if they've had side effects.  As I don't know how it'll affect me I should do as prescribed for now.  Still nervous   ;D

I bit the bullet and went for a full patch (25), oestrogen only, feeling half a patch at very post-meno was not going to help. I was prescribed a half patch. Still got most of the symptoms on a full one! Listen to your intuition? Good luck!

I was prescribed a full patch of evorel sequi in peri so that's what I used. It was the right amount for me.

Thanks Cookie. I just went for the full patch! Almost week 1 completed.

Hi Lanie66

I just went for it with the full patch. Week 1 almost completed with no odd feelings so far.

I bit the bullet and went for a full patch (25), oestrogen only, feeling half a patch at very post-meno was not going to help. I was prescribed a half patch. Still got most of the symptoms on a full one! Listen to your intuition? Good luck!

Hi Postmeno3. I went for the full patch - it’s a 50, so we will see what it does for symptoms!

I was prescribed a full patch of evorel sequi in peri so that's what I used. It was the right amount for me.

Thanks Sheila99

I’ve used the full patch - fingers crossed it will be the right amount to help the symptoms.
