No patches available help!
« on: June 13, 2021, 07:47:28 PM »

Hi, I’ve been on Evrol Sequi since January this year. I went to pick up my prescription the chemist said they are no longer available and can’t be sourced. I rang a few chemists and they said the same thing. Is this true, is it an EU thing. What the hell do I do now? Thanks for any advice

It's quite common that some HRT suddenly disappears  >:(.  If your GP knew this they should have contacted you with an alternative.  Give them a ring in the morning to ask for another suitable product.  Let us know how you get on.

Thanks CLKD I’m too scared to get something else. I suffer from terrible migraine which effects me like a stroke, my speech everything, and the thought of getting a different brand fills me with horror. I’ve found one chemist who tells me she might be able to get them, but I won’t know until tomorrow

Have you contacted the manufacturer to ask what the situation is?

When I was told by the pharmacy that they couldn’t get the patch I was using, I contacted the manufacturer who told me they were still sending out boxes weekly.
I went to a different pharmacy and got my supply.
Might be worth trying.

Migraines are dreadful, good idea to contact the manufacturer.  It may be that the NHS ain't prepared to pay for it  ::) so stocks are headed for mainland Europe  >:(

I had a problem getting Evorel Sequi a few weeks ago and found only one chemist that had a supply. I wondered if something was going on. I tried at least six different chemists and each used two different suppliers to access their medication. I do hope you find some. If I can’t find mine anymore I will struggle too! Good luck

There’s been a problem for quite some time. I’ve had a few months of being able to get estrodot patches, but not last month. Had to get an alternative make and get a new prescription. Back to ringing the pharmacy before submitting my prescription request to find what they can get and have it put to one side for me. Best find out suitable alternatives and do the same. Oh and request your prescription well before you would do so normally so you don’t panic!

I knew there was a big shortage but I thought it was resolved. It made the news and everything, it was around 2019.
Janssen stopped making the patches.
I kept being told by my chemist they were out of stock, and so were online sellers.
Then theramex started making them. I just moved to Conti patches last week, I did mention concerns about shortages to the GP but she said there were no shortages, so I am confused.
EDIT

I just googled HRT shortages and found this hope it helps https://thebms.org.uk/2021/05/british-menopause-society-further-update-on-hrt-supply-shortages-20-may-2021/
