I wondered if anyone else has experienced this? (I don't mean just a couple of pounds, I mean significant weight gain). I started on the Pill (Estrogen dominant one) back in December, took 4 months back to back and then in April switched to HRT (Lenzetto, two sprays a day). I've yet to take the Utrogestan, will do so in a couple of weeks.
In Jan my weight suddenly shot up - I've gained 1.5 stone in 4 months without any change to eating or exercise. At the same time as the sudden weight gain I started experiencing chronic constipation. I've been to the docs and had cameras up there and all sorts and they can't find anything wrong and essentially I've been been discharged, even though it is so bad I have to use home enemas about every other day just to go (no dietary changes or laxatives work). The only thing that changed at the same time was me starting the Pill and then HRT. I've done some reading and there is information out there that says estrogen causes constipation and weight gain, but I wondered if anyone else had experienced anything this drastic (ie. not just a few pounds)?? I'm just trying to understand the likelihood of it being the estrogen and also figure out what to do about it - it's having a huge negative impact on quality of life
