My Journey
« on: May 25, 2021, 02:25:44 PM »

Good Afternoon All,

I am Jeanette aged 44.....

So I was hoping to reach out and talk about my experience so far.

About 18 months ago I started to experience what I believe were Perimenopausal symptoms and went to my doctor (baring in mind my Mum was 41 when she went through this). He did a blood test that was "negative" but as my symptoms tied in with peri he diagnosed it and prescribed Femoston 1/10 (which I still take in tablet form). I was OK with this far a while but since 2021 I have started to feel really not good! My symptoms are low mood, loss of confidence, tinnitus, irritability, sadness, stress, lack of sleep, fear, worrying and anxiety, headaches....The list seems to be growing. I don't smoke but I tend to have a G&T or 2 every night which also causes me stress because I feel guilty.

My periods up until recently have been regular now they are less so and seem heavy and I have bleeding in between times too.

The fact is that I feel dreadful, I do not know which way to turn with this and just wish I could get some proper advice. I am happy to take HRT but didn't really want Anti D's......

I am keen to share other people's stories and know I am not alone xxx :'(

You R not alone !   :welcomemm:

Some ladies find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use to chart progress.

If your periods are waxing and waning, you are into peri-menopause.  Decide which symptom you would like to ease first?  Some ADs can help anxiety as well as hot flushes.  However, if you are feeling that your symptoms are due to hormonal upheaval, keep on with the Femoston 1/10.  There mayB threads on this if you put it into the search box.  Make notes ;-)

My periods came and went for 3-4 years.  I would miss months ........ then they would reappear  >:(  ::). Some GPs still don't believe that a lady can be menopausal if she is still having periods but not hot flushes.  Also no one is 2 young ! regardless of what many GPs think.
