Hi everyone, I am on oestrogel plus utrogestan for days 15 to 26.Over for the last three months I have has virtually no bleed. To months of months of two day scant brown spotting, and this month nothing at all. Has anyone else experienced this change? I do one pump of the oestrogel atm and 200 mg utrogestan orally. Thanks for any experience you have.

I didn't have any bleeding on oestrogel when I had to switch due to patch shortage, turns out I wasn't absorbing it, all symptoms came back too, soon as went back on patches periods resumed, symptoms gone 😃. Your issue might be low estrogen not allowing your uterine lining to thicken.

I am very similar to you. Started evorel 50 patches with utrogestan days 15 to 26 in Spring 2019 and have very rare periods. I have one right now and the last one was November. Instead I tend to spot a small amount on days 8 to 10 of the Utro. I feel good on this HRT but was referred for scan and hysteroscopy for the lack of bleed - had the hysteroscopy May 2020 and all was well. The gynae said I can carry on with this regime as long as I flag up any further changes.

Do you feel ok and like the HRT is working for you, controlling your symptoms?

Thanks for comment, and also lilleth112. I was originally advised by my doc to use one pump of the oestrogel and up it if I needed to. I started with two but my period was really awfully heavy and painful so I dropped the dose to one pump ... which make my think I’m not getting enough oestrogen to create a build up of womb lining ... I’m gonna try upping the dose to see how I feel, and will be interested to see if this affects the period.

It’s all so trial and error... it took me three different GPs at my doctor surgery before I could get HRT to try and help me, and I got to crisis point just doing  all the research myself and telling them what I needed.... so I know I should be checking back with the GP surgery I just don’t want to/can’t face getting into a loop with one that is not expert.

Yes it could be low Estrogen. I did think that with my own situation, but doubling my patch made no difference. I still believe I only bleed when I would have had a ‘real’ period anyway, even though the HRT does control the other symptoms. Good luck and let us know how you get on. x
