Monthly bleeding
« on: April 14, 2021, 12:32:56 PM »

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or can advise.
I have been using Evorel 75 patches since May 2020 with Utro 100mg for 3 weeks out of 4 as suggested by consultant.
In December I had a 4 day bleed - heavy with cramping pains. It happened again 1 month later so I increased the Utro to every day. But I have continued to get a monthly bleed.
I have been referred for a scan to check the womb lining.
So will I have to reduce the patch dosage? I don't want to increase my Utro dose as I find it makes me extremely lethargic and has exacerbated my acid reflux since I have been using it daily.
The GP thinks the HRT has somehow restarted my own cycle but I find that unlikely as my last period was in July 2014 but maybe that's right?
Anyone else had a similar problem?
Thanks

Just happened to me this last month. Had the ultrasound yesterday and womb lining thickened and fibroid I knew nothing of before.
Doctor has told me.to cease all HRT until I have a follow up with gynecologist. Dreading the fallout.

Thanks for your reply Elizabeta I'm sorry to hear that. I'm dreading a similar outcome although to be honest the monthly bleed is wiping out a week from every month so at the moment I don't know what I would prefer! Good luck with your follow up.

Do you know why your consultant suggested a week's break a month from the utro? I think you are post meno and the usual regime is continuous oestrogen and progesterone. Just curious as the monthly bleed was to be expected during the utro break although maybe the usual sequi regime is 200mg rather than 100mg. That's probably not very useful is it! Sorry   ;D I hope you soon get things sorted anyway.
