Please take the full 7 days course as I wouldn’t want you to end up like me with a Cuti embedded in my bladder. It’s coursed by these stupid 3 day course of antibiotics which will never get rid of an infection. Men get 2 weeks of antibiotics animals do to while women get 3 days!! Which now is causing a serious problem for many people where the infection in now deep embedded in the bladder and only treatment is high dose long term antibiotics. I’ve been in treatment nearly 2 years to get rid of it with the only NHS clinic in the uk.

Same for me. I prefer Trimethoprim. Usually works for me and no bad side effects.

Donna-Paul - have you been admitted for high-dose ABs via a drip? which bypasses the gut and can be administered easier?

Despite the stupid 1 day break I did take them all. So far so good. Have started some D mannose as a preventative for a while.

Do U have a diagnosed UTI?

MayB consider using vaginal atrophy treatment?

I’m sorry to hijack this thread  , I’m in agony with burning.

I haven’t been on for a while , hope you’re well . I didn’t have prolapsed organs. Saw a pelvic floor physiotherapist and she said I’ve got pelvic floor dysfunction.
Saw this thread , have been having horrendous burning, as though there’s a chill pepper in my vagina or urethra.
I’m taking antibiotics, started 3rd lot now , but they’re not helping. I never know what’s a UTI, thrush or Vaginal atrophy. I do test positive for leukocytes, but I’ve read that can also be VA and thrush . No itching or discharge.
Even the glands in my groin have come up in sympathy.
I’m allergic to canestan and nervous to take Flucloxacillin as it’s heavy on the liver .
I haven’t been using vagifem for months , but think I’d better get started.
I can’t get to see a GP , it’s a mess isn’t it.
I’m nervous to stop the antibiotics but my instinct is they’re not helping.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

It does sound like VA Sorbet.
Think you're right about restarting the Vagifem. Also it might help if you can get some Estriol cream as it seems to be more effective on the external vaginal area.

sorbet - get that 'vagifem' up there ASAP.  1 dose now, the next this evening.  As well as pain relief for 3 days.  A GP should not prescribe ABs on the off chance

Yes and it is last resort as it wipes out everything and the bugs come back even worse these words from the specialist. It is so true as I have to have it when it goes to my kidneys and initially I respond straightaway 1 week to 2 weeks later is comes back even worse. The only way to get rid of a embedded Cuti is high dose long term antibiotics unfortunately .

Hi StongKat , I’m back on the Vagifem. I’ve got a GP telephone consultation in a week so will ask for the Estriol cream too . Thank you for helping. xx

Hi CLKD , I’ve had 2 lots of Vagifem already . I won’t be stopping it again thinking things are okay. This VA is truly horrendous. Ibuprofen helps with the pain.  I agree they’re wrong prescribing AB’s . Thank you xx

Morning.  When I had emergency surgery in 1991 - Valentine's Day  - I had dreadful thrush for 2 weeks after.  Next time I had elective surgery I swallowed great spoonfuls of Greek LIVE yoghurt to line the digestive tract.  Worked 4 me.  I've heard it works after AB treatment too.  To encourage good bacteria.

Don't know how if delivered directly into a vein it causes more problems  as the medication by-passes the gut.  MayB try LIVE yoghurt, not 'natural' as that isn't necessily 'live'  .  3-4 large spoonfuls 3-4 times daily. Worked for my dog when she had heartburn
