Own cycle kicking in?
« on: February 24, 2021, 09:53:51 AM »

I’ve been following Dr Studd regime (under supervision due to Progesterone intolerance) for a while 3 pumps Estrogel & 7 days Utro first 7 days of the month. This has been going really well but December was a 5 week month and I think my own hormones kicked in as I’m Peri.
Beginning of this month I started bleeding on day 4 of taking Utro and at the minute I feel like my bleed is about to start.
Does anyone know if this will readjust itself or should I maybe suggest to my specialist taking Utro every 21 days for 7 days? Just so there’s more regularity?

Hi there your post got missed.

I've just answered a very similar post about cycles breaking through. The thing is you are taking a short duration of progesterone so that is more likely to make things unstable. A longer duration rather than a shorter cycle would be better and surely if you are prog intolerant every 3 weeks would be horrible? Perhaps suggest trying 10 days per 28. Also depends where you are in peri and the prog dose. Licensed dose is 200 mg so anything less is likely to make things more unstable too. Or if you are taking it orally try vaginally?

Let us know the outcome as others will be interested?

Thank you Hurdity.
This month I’m back to normal , I’m in late Peri and take the Utro vaginally. I take it the first 7 days of each month because it’s easier than working out dates.
I was thinking taking Utro days 21-28 but I’ve read it that you’re saying take it days 18-28 is that right? Wouldn’t that be more progesterone causing more intolerance symptoms which I struggle badly with especially as I also have fibromyalgia
