CKLD and Avalon, thank you for your kind and caring replies. I can see the logic in both and yes, ideally, I'd like to get it out of the way. I just don't know how best to approach how I'm feeling - ring the department or try to get a telephone appointment with my GP? If I push myself through it despite how I'm feeling (and if bleeding permits) and it goes ok, all well and good, but if I have a bad experience, I don't know what I'll do. I don't think it helps that the appointment has no named consultant, just 'nurse' and came with a leaflet with 'hysteroscopy clinic' circled and directions to look the guidance up online. All very clinical which my GP put down to the current climate (the leaflets were dated well before 2020 so I personally think this is standard practice). I barely slept last night and even just a walk to the local shop has me in almost full blown panic mode. I'm still very below par following being sick with Covid.
Thanks for listening.
