Hi! U may find that your local Hospital has a dedicated menopause clinic, don't opt for a gynaecologist - they often don't know much more than GPs!

Hi CLKD
My hospital unfortunately doesn't and my gynaecologist is worse than my GP on HRT and is pushing for me to have the coil fitted and she is anticipated HRT hence why I want to see a menopause specialist who knows what they are talking about. I have had two horrendous years and want to get on the right HRT.

You could try thebms.org.uk. Your gp should be able to refer you to an NHS menopause clinic though it might be a long wait atm. The newson clinic is in Cheshire but is doing telephone consultations, I haven't been there myself but they seem to have a good reputation.

Sadly I have spoken to two menopause specialists in Scotland listed on the BMS and both were rubbish, their ideas being so outdated and of little help.
An endocrinologist is maybe a good way to go as they deal with hormones. Look for one that has an interest in women's health

Sarahjane,
Are you able to PM me about your experience in Scotland? I'm just on the waiting list and forewarned is forearmed. I think you need to have posted at least ten times to PM, though.
