I did something really dumb the other day, and it actually made me stop and wonder about myself.

I made a cheese and tomato sandwich and only used half the tomato, so I put the other half in a container to put in the fridge. The next day I decided I would use the other half, but it wasn't in the fridge. "Hmmm, I must have already used it", me thinks to myself. So I grab another tomato, cut it in half and go to the cupboard to get out a container to put it in. You guessed it. The half tomato from the day before was happily sitting in the container in the cupboard.

At least it had only been there a day. When my mother was alive I used to find all sorts of moldy things in her cupboards.

::) - Himself has managed to drop his food onto the floor - last night and again at lunch time 2-day  :-\ - he managed to knock his elbow both times on the door surround on the way into the room, in exactly the same place   â€¦â€¦. I will be carrying his evening meal for him!

I managed to bend into a nettle earlier, does that count  :'(

The most stupid meno brain thing I've done to date was also very dangerous and it's what promoted me to turn to hrt.
I'd been shopping in the Bullring in Birmingham and was feeling a little overwhelmed by it all, the bright lights, the heat, the crowds etc so I decided to pop into a cafe for a cuppa and a snack. Fine, I sat daydreaming and looking out of the window then once I'd finished I promptly stood up and left the establishment...  Without paying!!
It was only half an hour later when I was looking at clothes in a large store that I suddenly realised and I broke into a hot then cold sweat. I started to shake as I was frightened I would be on cctv and get arrested. Anyway,I plucked up the courage to return to the cafe and I paid. I made some excuse about having a lot in my mind and the owner was lovely about it thankfully.
It scared me so much that I was in tears all the way home and I made an appointment to see my doctor. Such an awful thing is meno brain fog 😢

I took DH to pick up his car after service. I drove in front for the journey home, a journey I've done thousands of times, came to a roundabout and couldn't for the life of me remember where I was. I turned right then realised I'd gone wrong. Managed to turn around and made my way back to the roundabout where hubby was still waiting for me. He said he knew I'd be back, it's in the 4 pages. (Advice for husbands I printed off for him). This menopause brain is like baby brain.

Our village ain't big but I would forget where I'd parked my car  :'( - deeply depressed, I couldn't function ……. I took myself off the road for 3 months and NOT 1 of our neighbours noticed that the car hadn't moved  :-\  :'(

I am sure that the waitress would probably have noted that you seemed remote and distracted ……..  :bighug:

Thanks for the hug!
The waiters are all male in the cafe so they probably just thought " there's another mad old Chook" but yes, remote and distracted I certainly was. I used to walk round feeling like I was on cotton wool instead of a hard pavement and I'm sure at times I must have looked slightly drunk to others. Very weird.
No one noticed your car hadn't been moved for so long? That's awful, no one wants to be nosey but you would think that someone could have come across to see if you were ok. So, even in small villages it looks like community spirit is on the way out.
I read the other day about an elderly lady who couldn't get out of the bath and she was there for three days. Fortunately, a waitress in her local tearoom noticed she hadn't been in ( she was a regular) and went to her house. Thank goodness there are still some caring people out there.

I read that too.  The lady in question is now being picked up and taken to the cafe each day and that particular waitress is visiting her occasionally  :)

One neighbour would drive by our house and not look our way  :-\ …….. I had an AD many years ago which made me feel like I was walking on 5" soles ……. after 3 days I knew I couldn't take any more ……..

Finding a nettle CLKD - why is that a stupid thing?  ::)

Leaving things in the Aga (on in winter) and forgetting about them and then discovering a lovely hard perfectly formed black croissant, or mince pie |(at Christams of course not now), or bit of quiche I was looking forward to for lunch? I think I do stupid things intermittently all the time - and also the putting things in the wrong place - quite worrying really - it wastes so much time looking for them!

Oops!

I wondered why it was so misty in the shower this morning, then realised yet again that I hadn't removed my glasses. You'd think I'd learn.
