Hi

looking through the thread - for a while now I thought I was losing it - to many things to do etc etc.
However I realise it is a common thing to forget.
How many times have I gone upstairs or in another room and asked myself why am I here? Endless  :beat: Start to do something else and wander off again, then about 1 hour later it dawns on me what I should have been doing in the first place. As for Lists don't mention Lists - I have loads everywhere. Classic example when I go into town I take a list of things I need to go and do or buy especially when the kids are with me - they always distract me!! You can bet your bottom dollar by the time we get back home which is a 20 mile round trip - look at list, which by the way the youngest is supposed to look after for me! I find I forgot to do the most important thing on the list that is the reason why I went into town in the first place!!
I have put the salt in the fridge, put the milk in the cupboard and cereals in the fridge.
My favourite word is thingymjig you know what I mean!

Deja vu - I seem to get it more and more. Does anyone else seem to experencing Deja vu?

Anyhow lunch beckons. Deja vu again!! ::)

My new boss wants us to have phones so that they can get hold of us as and when they want. Also because I work on my own and have an accident when I'm out and about.
She brought it to me on Tuesday and on Wednesday it fell into a bucket of water. I did not know this until I emptied the bucket down the loo and heard a clunk. Almost walked away but thought I should take a look.  I was horrified to see it was the new phone.
I took it to the boss and as I handed her the phone I dropped it. She laughed when I told her what had happened and took it to the IT dept to see what could be done. No surprise to learn that they couldn't fix it.  ;D
I did feel bad about it but my friends laughed. I did too. But I don't know how it fell into the bucket of water in the first place. It must have been in there for over an hour at least.
Now they are going to get me another one. I'm not sure they should.  ;D

My hospital bleep used to fall into the loo when I sat down as I had it in my back pocket  ::) - at least they couldn't reach me once I'd drowned it  ;D

On Saturday, daughter handed me the house phone while I was clearing out the garage.  Finished call and put phone on bonnet of car telling myself 'Remember to take into house'.....didn't of course.

Took off in car to collect younger daughter from dancing and wondered what the noise was when I turned the corner - it was the phone flying off the bonnet!

Amazingly, it still works!  :D

I put the wrong Council bin out for collection.  Sadly NOT ONE OF our neighbours told me  >:( even though it had been out since 3.15 p.m. and my immediate neighbour stood his 'correct' bin beside ours  :'(

I've done the phone on top of roof too  ::) and 3 years ago did it with my reading glasses in a garden centre, thought as I laid them on top of the car 'souldn't do that!' yep they are in the grass verge somewhere along the A5  >:(.

Ive just sat and read this thread right through .. and feel so much better for it ... I just thought I was losing the plot but sounds like most of us menopausal ladies are too .. the annoying part is when I know exactly what I am thinking about but cant put the name/words to it .. or think of a song and can actually hum/or sing it but the title wont come out ..going upstairs for something and getting there only to realise Ive forgotten what I went up for and if OH tells me again to "go back over what Ive done" I think I might just clock him.  :beat:  ;D

It is really helpful and heartening to read all this but I have a question which my GP was unable/unwilling to answer (she referred me to this website, so brownie points to her) is - will we ever get better?
I know there's going to be an element of forgetfulness/daftness relating to the aging process, but I am hoping that some of my clumsiness/distractedness might improve once my hormones settle down again. Can anyone give me any hope on this, or do I just have to develop a stronger sense of humour and sense of proportion?

I've heard that it all improves once the hormones settle down and that's what I'm choosing to believe!

:beaurk: to both milk and peppermint tea  :-\

I'm not stupid every day just part of the week  ::) .  I heard a crash this afternoon and was unable to locate the noise; knew it was indoors somewhere and as the dog was sleeping soundly it hadn't been him; later Robin sat outside looking for meal worms and then I discovered the source of the crash  - a whole tub of live worms were making for the undersides of the white goods in the utility room .... so out came the brush and dustpan and still I'm picking up the odd mealie making a dash for freedom  ::)

I hadn't stood the tub safely!  [oh whoose there's a firework  >:( ].

It does get better.  A sense of humour helps, have you all found the funny room yet .........  ;D
