What can I do/should I do?
« on: November 30, 2020, 12:45:14 PM »

Hello, I am hoping somebody can help me before I completely lose my mind.

I am in full anxiety mode at the moment and do not know which direction to turn. So far my symptoms as at the moment are - palpitations, feeling of dread, anxiety, nausea, shaking, odd vision, trouble sleeping, energy surge on waking up and can’t be arsedness. I feel as though I am on the verge of dying instantly but deep down I know that’s probably not the case.

I went to sleep okay last night but woke about an hour later feeling as though I couldn’t breathe, more so breathing out than in, and also feeling as though my body was disappearing!

My energy levels are still good and I can easily walk for 2 hours at a good pace, which I do every day, so that one good thing.

I have been trying to get a gp appointment to see if I could have a blood test but it’s impossible to get through! I have also tried to book with a menopause clinic but no spaces until January due to covid restrictions. Is there anything I can do to help myself?

....... and breath.

Hormones  >:( especially the cortisol which is the waking up hormone.  It crippled me in the early hours for many weeks.  GP prescribed a beta-blocka in 2002 which helped ease those surges.

I hate that moment between being asleep and waking  :o it can make me feel strange sometimes.  I don't worry as much as it hasn't harmed me!

Does your GP surgery have an e-mail facility?  MayB ring in the evenings, our Practice is working 8.00-8.00 most days and occasional Sat. mornings.  Did U get an appt. at the Menopause Clinic?  It's probably not long in reality and no Clinic should be quoting 'C-19' - the health service is open.  Apparently.

Anxiety can be eased by appropriate medications if you don't want to take HRT.

Thanks for your reply. I do have an appointment with a private menopause clinic but not until January as they are seeing less people per day due to cleaning etc.

I have only been offered more a coil so far which I am reluctant to try.  Beta blockers may be a good idea so will find out.

'rescue remedy' mouth spray helped me, I would use it and 'get on' not thinking whether it worked/not.

MayB put 'mirena coil' into the search box?  Lots of ladies find it useful .  It can be removed if necessary.
