Feeling stupid
« on: November 18, 2020, 12:53:17 PM »

Whilst reading through the forum this morning, I left my pan of home made broccoli and stilton soup bubbling away  in the kitchen. When I went back it had bubbled over everywhere, no liquid left in it, just a burning smell. I now feel completely stupid because I cannot mange to do even the simplest of tasks. Some days stringing a coherent sentence together is a challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

Don't fret mandss you're not alone on this site, I don't know how many times I've forgotten about a pan on the stove and numerous other incidents,I now just laugh at myself  ::)

DH burned a pot of baked beans last week  ::).  We soaked the pan with washing powder then gently bubbled it on the stove; rinsed out then he put some oven cleaner in it.  Through the dishwasher, job down.

We have a 'doing stupid things' thread ....... you will see you are not alone  :D

As long as you didn't dance jillydoll !!

I feel stupid when people notice, otherwise .............  ;)

One can get milk savers, little discs of thick glass that rattle when things start to bubble.  I put my bread under to make lunch then went away to use my new toy  ;D 20 mins later DH called 'your toast is ready'  :-*.  I kind of knew that I ought to remember but time flew by .....

I believe that she bought it from the milk man who delivered in those days, Lakeland used to sell them too.  It doesn't actually stop milk boiling over as I found out several times  :o

No,think it's just the noise is supposed to alert you when the milk starts to boil, not much use when you've forgotten about said milk and go outside to do something else  ;D
