 :o makes it more interesting!

It amazes me how these professionals are travelling/cycling every week.  They don't know which Continent they may be in at any one time  ;D.  Pete Kennick (sp) was chatting about France whilst commentating, how he rode through with no idea how beautiful parts might be.  What a waste of scenery !

I think there's an event in Oxfordshire soon?  Must do a search.

Have you seen the news about Chris Anker Sorensen the Danish rider, now commentator.  He was covering the cycling for Danish tv but when he was out for a ride he was hit by a car and killed  :'(  so sad

Have U seen how STEEEP  :o that inside track is !! they had to put a ladder up to clear broken bits of surface last night.  Chris Boardman remembers someone skidding along, gathering splinters in his legs: I remember it took 6 hours in a bath with someone removing splinters with tweezers!

I went to see the track cycling test event for the London Olympics, its very steep and very warm in the veladrome.  Both my better half and DS have cycled in the Newport veladrome and said its quite scary the first time  ;D

Alex going for his World hour record in Mexico :o 20 mins. 2 cycle.  2015 the last time.

He didn't quite make it.  He was knackered after ......... why do they put themselves through it  :-\.  He has haemophilia apparently so was raising funds for research.

British cyclist Mark Cavendish was assaulted by four armed men during a burglary at his home on 27 November.

Cavendish, 36, said he, his wife Peta and their children were threatened "at knifepoint" by the men and he was "violently attacked".

The Manx rider was suffering from two broken ribs and a collapsed lung sustained in a crash on 21 November.

Essex Police said none of the family sustained serious injuries but were "incredibly shaken" by the incident.

They added the group stole a Louis Vuitton suitcase and two "high-value" watches and that no arrests had yet been made.
