Talking stupidly
« on: October 29, 2020, 08:01:01 PM »

Hi ladies ... I’m new here, I’ve been looking for a forum for support and to support others where I can.

Has anyone ever had problems with their speech and concentration?! I’ve been getting really weird odd feelings in my head, along with constant headaches or aura migraines. Today has been the first day in a week where I’ve not had a headache. I cut out mini dark chocolate bars yesterday as I wondered if they may be triggering the headaches. My hot flushes recently came back with a vengeance after not having any for a couple of months. The thing I’m mainly anxious about is forgetting words, jumbling my sentences and stuttering on occasion. Basically, talking like an idiot. It’s quite scary as I’ve never had this before and I started panicking that it might be early dementia. Does anybody have any experience of this horrible stuff?

I’m 49 and have not had a period for 6 months. Just a little sticky brown residue this month.

Any help would be so appreciated ❤️🙏🏻

Thanks so much ladies, it’s nice to know that you can relate to me! 😍Thanks for the lovely welcome emoji too! I love the little ‘first FLUSH’ note on my post. How sweet is that! It is weird how these symptoms seem to come on suddenly. I haven’t felt so bad this evening. I definitely think the dark chocolate was triggering me. I’ve starting taking a vitamin D oral spray (the past two days) which could be helping. I read it was good for symptoms. Will be glad when I’m out the other side of this! Xx

Hi Jaypo ... I think noticing it has made me worse! I only drink caffeine free coffee & tea but do you think there’s something in the coffee/tea itself that causes it? I cut out the mini dark chocolate bars I was having (3 days ago) and my headaches & migraines have gone. I don’t feel so weird now. My silly talk isn’t as bad so obvi connected to the headaches. I also started having Vit D spray 3 days ago.

I think cutting out the chocolate is a good idea, There's another lady on here I know suffers terrible headaches and migraines and she has now cut out chocolate (ain't life a bummer) as every time she ate some, sure enough, along came a headache.
Not sure about the coffee yet,I've just bought some decaf and I'm going to have the occasional cup and see if it affects me,my sleep was horrendous before, lying awake half the night, the exhaustion was crippling, stopped the coffee? I sleep like a baby.

Maybe thinking you have dementia should be listed as one of the main meno symptoms, it's definitely one of the scariest, and most unexpected - brain fog sounds such a gentle phrase it doesn't really prepare you for it.  You see changes to your body all through your life, but your brain stays basically the same for so many years and then suddenly goes weird.

Tiredness is the cause of it for me, when i'm sleeping well it's so much better.  Like Sparkle I sometimes have trouble reading, words jump about a bit or i just read them wrong,  and typing wrong letters can come up with some interesting new words.  Newsreaders don't make sense when i hear them wrong - sex instead of sects makes the news more interesting, and as for getting words wrong when your'e out in public - worst so far was in the supermarket - orgasmic instead of organic.

Love the look husband sometimes gives me, he doesn't say a word, just that look.

Haha clkd,it's better than nothing.........isn't it?  ;D

That's why this forum is invaluable,if it wasn't here, some ladies would be in constant panic,it's good to read you're not alone and that all these crazy symptoms are not just suffered by you alone.

See, all these posts make me feel much better about my weird speech and also make me smile! The other night I went to open the curtains as it was morning. Really weird! My brain seems to be thinking too far ahead ... even with talking, sometimes I say the end of a sentence before the beginning or get the words in the wrong order. I do multi task as I have to juggle a lot of things daily, but I’m trying to take it easier where possible.

I’ve been headache free for 2 full days now, like the good ole days. It’s a shame about the dark chocolate as I found mini bars that were only 63-75 calories and they were a treat I could fit into my Noom healthy eating programme! They also have gut friendly probiotics. Maybe I’ll try 1/4 of a bar and see what happens. The vit D spray is helping too I’m sure.

It’s the hot flushes that wake me up at night and causing my disturbed sleep. That doesn’t help.

Your orgasmic slip up made me laugh Soarkle.

I agree Jaypo, this forum is invaluable!
