E-Consultations with doctors surgery.
« on: October 27, 2020, 12:06:46 PM »

I need doctor’s advice for a condition that is not an emergency, so rang up and was redirected to going online for an E- consult. Fine, I thought. No problem, I thought. An hour and a half later.......talk about jumping through hoops. They obviously don’t want any time wasters. It included a not very fetching view of my nose! Do I look that old and ugly?

How on Earth does that work  :-\ ........... did you get a diagnosis that helps?

It would be far quicker for all concerned to visit the Surgery, health service is apparently 'open'  :-\.

D U feel reassured? and nope, from where I'm sitting you look fine!

I haven’t got a reply yet. Could take up to 2 days. I suspect a skin infection. Not an emergency at the moment, but uncomfortable and unsightly. I can see this as a service not being used, as it’s so ridiculously long and complicated to use.

I would expect a breast appt to be face-2-face ......... unless we begin pushing for proper consultations, a lot of people are going to be under the radar!

At our surgery they seem to think nurses are expendable but doctors too valuable to be exposed to the public  >:(. Tell them you don't have a computer so they will have to see you in person? If I was sending a picture of my privates I want the same level of security I have for my credit card.

It said you couldn’t send photos of private bits! I’ve learnt some new computer skills!

I have heard from the surgery and have an appointment for a phone consultation Thursday next week. Well I hope it doesn’t get worse by then if it is an infection. I want to claw at my face. Not satisfactory after all that effort. With a doctor I have never heard of. As I’ve been shielding, I’m not keen to go to the pharmacy, but I may have to if things get worse. DH always collects my meds, so I don’t have to.

That is not good enough!  Out of sight, out of mind ....... patients at home drop off the radar pretty fast.

The Pharmacy should be safe enough?

That’s reassuring. I seem to have lost confidence going out and about in public places. Just been to the dentists and chiropractors. Both followed stringent procedures. The dentist and his assistant both wore face masks that made them look like space men behind face shields. Couldn’t understand a thing they said!

They were lovely. I felt reassured by all the measures put in place. Unfortunately they wouldn’t let me keep my mask on!
