Just an update.

I have been to my GP, lovely woman. She believes tat it might be silent reflux, and that I should first try gaviscon advanced and see how I go before she prescribes me anything. ::)

She felt around my torso and she said my organs seem fine, and that all the breathing issues and tighteness is most probably anxiety or hormonal triggered anxiety.

She also wrote a prescription out for setraline. Anybody on that? And also talked about possible medication for hormones, namely sequential combined hrt  - not sure what that means- anybody on it or tried it?

She also recommedned this website, which was cool. I was like "I'm   on!".

My GP gave me medication to ease symptoms.

Good to know.

I am currently on a low dose steroid nasal spray bought from Amazon. I can't remmeber who suggested it, might've been you CKLD, and I use it once a day, soon hopefully I won't need it. The sudafed nasal spray was terribly addcitve. At least with this one, when I forget to take it my nostrils don't block up. Actually that coujld be a reason to stop now. Doh! *face palms*

Setraline has good results I believe.  How did you get on with 'gxviscon' - I had 1 spoonful yesterday, it's like wall paper paste  :-X

Haha, I couldn't find a way to describe the texture, but that is it - "wall paper paste". I do a little jig every time I take it, it's that bad LOL. I'm not sure whether its the gaviscon helping or seomthing else, but I haven't been feeling congested in the chest for a few days. I started gaviscon advance on Monday. I really should've being wrriting in my journal when it all started.

Yes, and I'm feeling pretty optimistic now concerning the setraline.

I think I was put on omeprazolol a while back. Not sure it worked though.

Hi loonarider, hopefully Gaviscon Advance will be enough to control silent reflux. I couldn't take Sertraline, too many scary side effects, but loads of people take it. Sequential combined HRT is for women in perimenopause or post-menopause who can't take progesterone continuously (sedative side effects). You can find the preparations available here https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/perimeno.php  You will have a scheduled bleeding after each cycle.
I have mentioned the corticosteroid nasal spray, I suppose you have talked about this with your doc or maybe not (bought from Amazon)?

Thank you Uptick for the info, very helpful and I'll read tonight while in bed. Yes, I deinfitely feel a difference, the cough isn't there so much, and the chest pain and breathlessness comes on after I eat. Actually lately since taking Gaviscon advance I haven't noticed it at all which is great.  :)

Ha, you're right save Dr Google and health related stuff for during the day.

My cough has returned, there was brief respite. I don't think it is linked to silent reflux, but then again it could be but just have to try different medications. All I know is that it seems to be random. The cough and sore tickley throat will hang around for a good week or so and then bugger off for a few days and then return, and when it does return, everytime I think it's the beginning of rona symtpoms and that I might die from it.  :'( Sick of feeling scared all the time :'(

Yep.  But symptoms haven't developed in C-19 have they?  Anxiety has no logic so one has to think about *all* the C-19 symptoms beyond the cough.

I'm back on 2 omeprazlol daily otherwise by mid afternoon I'm driving every1 mad  :(

Sometimes PPIs are needed on a long term basis. I know that’s the case for me.
What you do have to be aware of is, you may need to supplement with a good multi vitamin as PPIs are not kind to that kind of thing.

What's PPI?

Proton Pump Inhibitors, drugs that decrease acid production in your stomach, to treat heartburn, gastric acid reflux and ulcers.
