Anyone had a polyp diagnosed in the uterus (no symptoms) that was left alone?  I have just had a TVS done by a consultant (routine) as I had a cervical polyp removed last year to check everything and to also make sure the lining was fine. It is thin and the only thing is a small polyp in the fundus which isn't causing bleeding or any symptoms.Waiting to see another consultant now about it, but was told by the consultant who did it that it is benign and may be difficult to remove due to atrophic lining.
Anyone have a polyp that has been left alone?

I had two small cervical polyps and never got rid of them. They used to cause breakthrough bleeding when I still had periods, but they have shrunken after menopause, at least that's what it seems, because they haven't been seen on scans, although I think a hysteroscopy is the ideal way for spotting them. I'm not on HRT, 4 years post menopause.

Thank you so much Sage for your reply.I don't really fancy more surgery as had cervical polyp removed last year. Had a late menopause at 59 so am over all of this! Still I'll be guided by the consultant as to what he advises. Just looking forward to the end of it all now!

Wait and watch?  Have you a followup appt. i.e. for 6 months?  Lucky that you got seen, well done!

My polyp bled on contact, never quite sure how high up it was.  Consultant wanted to remove it [privately] but I was too depressed.  It shrunk when I went into peri ...........

Wow, 59! Your ovaries are tough fighters! As inconvenient as it must have been, at least you know you had enough protection for your bones. Are you on HRT? Polyps like oestrogen. My Gynae said they would shrink after menopause, but they had 0.5% chance of turning cancerous, so it's important to keep an eye on them if you decide to have HRT. If I need HRT to control symptoms she's probably going to want me to have a polypectomy if they bother to show up again.

I'm not on HRT- think I have had enough oestrogen over the years! Have low oestrogen now on blood tests so probably not going to trigger the polyp to grow.Yes CLKD I have been followed by a consultant for a year as my lining was 6mm - not now though only 2mm! Had surgery for Polyp on cervix - was a mucus producing polyp last November.
Had a scan last week (TVS) that showed a polyp on the fundus but very difficult to see - could be adenomyosis. Might need a saline ultrasound test to absolutely confirm polyp but probably not now as Covid issues and not seen as urgent as no suspicious features.
All very concerning though as would love to have nothing in there! I think this all grew during peri as mine was a long haul!
