HRT Patches Estradot
« on: September 15, 2020, 09:12:34 PM »

Hi there, I have been taking Estradot Patches 37.5mg for the last 3 months, before I started taking it my mood was good, I take antidepressants outside of the perimenopause for Anxiety, but since starting on the HRT my mood has gone downhill, feeling depressed and the anxiety has gotten really bad in the last week. I am wondering would the HRT cause Anxiety/Depression? The hot flushes, night sweats are gone but I find the low mood difficult to deal with. I would like some advise from anyone who has had worsening mental health issue from taking HRT. Thanks, Joanne

Hello, yes the patches can definitely bring on depression and anxeity.... before I started on the patches I was on and off the HRT pill as I kept forgetting to take it and I was feeling so so low. The patches did help me and picked me up but the Anxiety is awful...i get it a lot more than I did before the patches....
If yoy are feeling low because of them you really need to talk to your dr...

I've recently been given Estradot instead of Evorel and have had a massive mental crash, as well as a return to the horrible urinary symptoms that necessitated going on Hrt in the first place.

My theory is that some of us don't do well on the delivery system for this type of patch. It seems to affect women mentally as well as physically. Not everyone of course, some women do well on Estradot.

Me too, Estradot instead of Evorel seems to've resulted in a catastrophic mental breakdown, resulting in taking an overdose  :'(. Don't underestimate the power of hormones...x
