Memory and Brain Fog
« on: September 02, 2020, 09:53:50 PM »

I am post menopausal and have been lucky to suffer very few if any physical symptoms but I have found my ability to process and retain information and acquire new knowledge has declined most dramatically at the post menopausal stage,  not at the beginning nor during. Will my brain fog ever lift? My confidence and self esteem are rapidly diminishing, I feel such a fool at times and my anxiety levels are going up.  I thought things were supposed to get better once you got through menopause. Any advice and shared experience appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Ann,brain fog is definitely an issue with a lot of women on here,I know I have started doing numerous stupid things or forgetting things,my OH thinks I don't listen to him as he'll say, I told you that the other day but just can't remember.Have you tried doing brain training puzzles online? Some are really good and jump start your brain.
Go to the funny side of menopause and look at doing stupid things or there's a strange woman in my house, you will see you're not alone  :)

You certainly are not alone!  I don't know why it happens but I have complete blanks sometimes: names, places, what we did yesterday ......

My brain fog is terrible. I have notes everywhere and my co ordination and balance is shocking.

I had hideous brain frog and I think it was the day that I came out of the supermarket and couldn’t even remember if I had brought my car, let alone where it was parked, that made me seek help and start a trial of HRT.  I haven’t looked back!
